1. Explore a working farm at Ross Farm Museum
2. Grab takeout from Magic Pizza in Windsor
3. Enjoy sunset views, dinner, and s’mores by the campfire at NATURA Wilderness Resort

This family-friendly trip blends history, a Nova Scotia favourite food, and relaxation.

Stop 1: Explore Ross Farm Museum

Ross Farm Museum is one of Nova Scotia’s most engaging living history farms. This restored 19th-century farmstead brings the past to life through hands-on experiences, heritage buildings, and costumed interpreters demonstrating traditional skills. What makes Ross Farm especially memorable is how interactive it is. Visitors can take a turn as the teacher in the one-room schoolhouse, ride in a covered wagon, and visit the animals in the stable. Throughout the property, interpreters demonstrate crafts such as blacksmithing, woodworking, and traditional food preparation.
Be sure to step inside the farmhouse kitchen, where fresh-baked goods are often available. Walking through the home and farmyard offers a glimpse into daily life as it would have been for Nova Scotia farm families nearly two centuries ago.
Plan to spend about 1.5 to 2 hours exploring at your own pace.

Stop 2: Pick Up Magic Pizza in Windsor

On your way back, stop in Windsor and pick up dinner from Magic Pizza, a local favourite. Garlic fingers with donair sauce for dipping are a Nova Scotia classic — soft, cheesy strips served with the province’s signature sweet sauce. If you’d like to try something different, their lemon-parmesan dip is also excellent. You can download the menu and call ahead so your order is ready when you arrive.

Stop 3: Sunset, Campfire Dinner & S’mores

After returning for the evening, enjoy dinner outdoors at your private glamping tent. Many guests walk to the hilltop to watch the sunset, where wide views across the countryside make for a peaceful end to the day. As the evening cools, light your campfire and make s’mores. S’more kits are available and can be delivered directly to your tent, making it easy to enjoy this classic campfire tradition.
